About Me

Gary Bolyer

I am a New York city-based landscape painter.  My impressionistic oil paintings focus on my love of the natural world. Using broad, sweeping brushstrokes and color laid down in patches, my intent is to capture the natural beauty of my subject matter with power and affection.

I was educated at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in oil painting. I have also studied landscape oil painting at The Art Students’ League of New York.

My artist’s style reflects my early influences in my life, especially my formative years growing up in a rural area of northwest Louisiana, and my love of nature.  Detail is minimized in my work and used only for the enhancement of the composition.

  3. Dear Gary:
Hi. I found your blog and website here on WordPress and I really like all the great information that you have and Your Art is really beautiful. I’m an Artist, Illustrator, and Published Author and I’ve been painting my own brand of American Folk Art for nearly ten years. I was wondering if you might be interested in having a look at my online gallery. I’ve been trying to break into the Licensing Industry for quite some time now and I’ve had some different kinds of success through the years. I hope that you will have a look at my online gallery and my blogsite. I will be following your blog and I want to thank you for adding me to your mailing list. If you have any questions or need any additional information please feel free to let me know.
    Sincerely:
    Mike Filippello
